ARMERY

While working together in the cardiac cath lab, we, the “Two Andrews”—one an Interventional Cardiologist, the other a Medical Radiation Technologist—identified areas of our procedures that required urgent attention. For one, growing use of the radial approach meant exposure to doses of radiation well-above any other profession—even nuclear workers(!)—this in spite of the many mitigating steps already taken in the lab.

On a more practical level, the methods we used for interventional support were mostly improvised and insufficient for our needs. We therefore sought to create tools that would both keep us safe and optimize the way we conduct our procedures. This is what inspired us to develop ARMERY’s Radial Arm Boards—tools designed for and by operators, backed by research.

I love the interventional work area. Since using the Armery Radial Arm Board I can’t go back to doing procedures without it… this should be part of standard equipment for every lab.
— DR. RAM VIJAYARAGHAVAN, Head of Interventional Cardiology, Scarborough Health Network
Long overdue apparatus. Simple and effortless to attach to any cath lab table, providing a workable surface and platform with patient comfort and proven radiation protection for the radial operator.
— DR. PATRICK TEEFY, Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, London Health Sciences Centre & Associate Professor of Medicine, Western University
The Armery radial arm board has been an invaluable addition to our catheterization lab. Beyond the radiation protection it creates a perfect working space which is neat and tidy for all of our wires and catheters. It is a must for all catheterization labs!
